Privacy
The Maloney Review is an editorial publication. It does not sell products, does not run advertising, and does not share data with third parties beyond what is described on this page.
What is collected
Google Analytics 4. This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-K15PGCRDYB) to count pageviews, see which articles are read, and understand where readers come from. GA4 sets cookies in your browser and reports usage data to Google. The publication has IP-anonymisation enabled, which truncates your IP address before it is logged.
Server logs. Cloudflare, the publication’s hosting provider, keeps short-lived access logs containing IP addresses and request paths. These logs are used only for security and abuse prevention.
That is the full list. The site sets no advertising cookies, runs no remarketing pixels, and is not connected to any data broker, ad network, or social-media tracking pixel.
What is not collected
- No name, email, or contact information unless you submit it directly.
- No payment information — the publication does not sell anything.
- No location data beyond the country-level resolution that GA4 derives from the anonymised IP.
- No social-media tracking. There are no Facebook pixels, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no Twitter/X conversion tracking.
How to opt out
If you do not want GA4 to record your pageviews:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. It works on every site that uses GA, including this one.
- Or enable “Do Not Track” or a tracking-protection feature in your browser. Brave, Firefox (Strict mode), and Safari (Intelligent Tracking Prevention) all block GA4 by default.
- Or use any standard ad-blocker. uBlock Origin and similar tools block GA4 out of the box.
The publication does not detect or treat opted-out readers differently; you read the same site either way.
GDPR and Australian Privacy Act
If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data-protection law, you have rights of access, rectification, deletion, and portability over personal data the publication holds about you. The publication does not knowingly hold personal data about readers beyond the GA4 and server-log signals described above. Requests can be sent to the editor (editor@ritamaloney.com).
If you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles apply. The same contact applies.
Changes
This policy is updated when the data-handling reality of the site changes. Material changes are dated and logged in the corrections register. The current “last reviewed” date is shown above.
